Only for system participants who make use of a flat-rate solution for packaging in accordance with section 9 (2) no. 3 of the Packaging Ordinance 2014 (VVO 2014)
With this product, we ensure your compliance for placing single-use plastics on the market in Austria. The prerequisite for this is that your annual volume of packaging placed on the market in Austria does not exceed 1,500 kg of household packaging and 1,500 kg of commercial packaging and that you already have a valid flat-rate contract for licensing with ERP Austria. If these conditions are not met, the purchase amount will not be refunded. The flat-rate fee for single-use plastic products (SUP) is collected and subsequently used for measures aimed at preventing and counteracting littering, e.g. for street cleaning, correct disposal, raising awareness and sensitizing the population to these single-use plastics in Austria.
From 2023 onwards, all distributors in Austria of:
- Beverage cups,
- Food packaging,
- Bags and film packaging (wrappers) made from flexible material,
- Beverage containers such as PET beverage bottles, other beverage bottles, other beverage containers e.g. Tetrapak (up to max. 3 liters)
- Very lightweight plastic carrier bags (wall thickness < 0.015 mm)
- Tobacco products (with filter)
and beyond:
- Wet wipes (from 2026 for the year 2025)
- Balloons (from 2026 for the year 2025)
- Fishing gear (from 2026 for the year 2025)
From the 2025 performance period, this contribution is expected to increase to €13.00 per year (excl. VAT) in accordance with the BMK's announcement.
